Enrico Pellizzoni: Over 100 Years of Leathercraft and Italian Design

The Enrico Pellizzoni brand was founded in 1986, building on a century of experience in leatherworking. In fact, since 1900, the Pellizzoni family has made leatherworking a true passion; they initially entered the footwear industry before shifting their focus to the production of home furnishings. Historically based in Mariano Comense (Co), the company has been located in its current 4,000-square-meter facility since 1988, where it produces home and office furnishings: chairs, armchairs, stools, sofas, tables, desks, and accessories.

Sustainability.

Full-Grain Leather is a material made from top-quality bovine hides sourced from EU member states. The part of the hide used is the shoulder. During the tanning process, which uses only vegetable-based substances, no pentachlorophenol is present, as required by EU regulations. The leather is finished with pigments and resins composed mainly of casein, and therefore has a very low toxic content. In the final stage, a nitro-emulsion compound is used to prevent water absorption on the grain side. Small veins, wrinkles, and imperceptible scratches on the surface demonstrate the leather’s natural character, making each piece one-of-a-kind. The leather is obtained from cattle slaughtered for food purposes. No cattle were therefore slaughtered solely for the production of furniture items. It is produced in Tuscany, an Italian region famous for producing the finest quality vegetable-tanned leather, and is protected and promoted by the “Pelle Conciata al Vegetale in Toscana” consortium.
